“I am striving to grow.” This is a clear expression of openness to personal growth. In striving, new experiences, new learnings and realizations come out. Failures or successes are the consequences of this effort. If we fail, somehow God is telling us to strive more and look back what could be the reasons why we failed. If we succeed, then God wants us to celebrate, be joyful for the effort that we have shown.
We grow in every experience. To grow or not grow is a choice. God gave us the freedom to choose, to make decisions; but we have to be responsible for every decision that we have made.
We can only appreciate our growth if we are aware that our life is the greatest gift we receive from God. This awareness inspires us to proclaim God’s love to ourselves and to others. We remain hopeful of our striving efforts because of this awareness and be free to live life to the fullest.
In every striving effort we follow the voice of love, experiencing the joy of being loved by God. This allows us to share that same love to others. We recognize His presence not just in ourselves but with every person we met everyday.
It is only God and ourselves who can honestly assess our personal growth. Others may experience the external effects of this growth but, still, only God and our very own self can truly affirm our innermost effort to grow in faith, hope and love.
